Revelation By M.E.

Myrda Monasterial and Eloisa Serrano put the “ME” in Revelation by M.E. Together, this dynamic duo set out to create a fashion line dedicated to providing chic, bold designs specifically for women on the go. In today’s world, women put on a variety of hats whether they be full-time mothers, stressed out students or responsibility-ridden professionals. Being busy, independent women themselves, Myrda and Eloisa understand the hectic lifestyle that comes along with being a female in today’s society.

Determined to provide women with beautiful designs that match womens beauty while accommodating their need for versatility and comfort throughout the day, Myrda and Eloisa created Revelation by M.E.

Each piece in their collection comes with it’s own name to express the clothing’s unique personality. Each piece is also built to make an smooth transition from a comfortable day-time ensemble to a more fun,night-time outfit. Revelation by M.E. is the perfect choice for busy women unwilling to compromise their sense of style for their demanding schedules.

About The Designers

Myrda Monasterial
Las Vegas, Nevada

Summed up in a single phrase, this girl is funky-fresh, dressed to impress and more than ready to party. Myrda’s energy and exuberant personality has always attracted her to the excitement and creativity of the fashion world.

Background:

After getting her Associates degree in Fashion Merchandising from the College of Southern Nevada as well as her Bachelors in History from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, this savvy seductress moved to San Francisco to round-out her education with a third degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she met her current fashion colleague, Eloisa Serrano. The rest was history. The two immediately paired up to launch their own fashion line, one infused with their passion for fun but practical pieces for the everyday woman on-the-go.

Personal Style:

For Myrda, designing is all about keeping it simple while retaining a sense of bold excitement in the clothes women wear. Her versatility as a designer allows her to create everything from sexy and chic Friday night evening-wear to sleek and elegant evening gowns. Her enthusiastically glowing personality allows her to bring a lively sense of style to her creative designs.

Eloisa Serrano
Greenfield, California

Since her early childhood, Eloisa Serrano dreamed of designing beautiful clothes for women all around the world. Originally from Monterey County, California, this small town girl remained determined to grace the fashion industry with her talent.

Background:

After moving to San Francisco to pursue her dream full-time, Eloisa acquired two degrees in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of California and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and the list doesn’t end there. Eloisa’s impressive accomplishments also include being the featured designer of the “Fantasy Lights” fashion show two years in a row along with being selected as the opening guest designer for fashion designer, Tony Sananikone.

With her well rounded resume in place and an unstoppable drive to design clothing professionally, Eloisa partnered up with Myrda Monasterial and created Revelation By M.E., a designer clothing label women on the go.

Personal Style:

Eloisa’s style is edgy but feminine. Her creativity is derived from her ability to find beauty and inspiration in everything around her. She is fully dedicated to striking the right balance between stylish yet practical designs for women. Eloisa firmly believes that every woman should have access to clothes that are both beautiful and wearable, a vision that shines through perfectly in Revelation by M.E.

Ever wonder where designers get their start, or what it takes to begin a career in fashion? Before making their debut on store clothing labels or premiering their collections in front of Hollywood’s finest, most emerging designers hone their craft amidst humble beginnings. For many this means hitting the books (or in this case, the sketchboard) in fashion school.

This week’s featured fashion institute is FIDM, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Located in four campuses across California (San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles and San Francisco), this fashion giant has a lot to toot its own horn about. Over 7,000 students, 18 merchandising and design majors, and tons of distinguished alumni and faculty.

FIDM consistently attracts the most talented design students and faculty destined for the fashion industry, and their alumni roster proves it. Among the many success stories to come out of the fashion school are Kelly Arsenian (designer for True Religion Jeans), Kevan Hall (designer to the stars) and Estevan Ramos (sexy garment designer for Hollywood’s most sensual women).

FIDM is most well known for being home to Bravo’s wildly popular Project Runway, the show that gives talented, new designers the opportunity to showcase their designs and compete for the coveted title of top fashion designer. Many of FIDM’s students themselves have been selected for the shows’s competition, including one of the most popular FIDM alumns of all, Nick Verreos.

When asked “what does it take to be designer at FIDM?”one alumna responded, “An incredible amount of dedication to your passion. You’ve got to be in it for real and give it all of your creative energy because the competition will make your jaw-drop.” She wasn’t wrong either. Each year the school hosts the annual FIDM DEBUT Runway Show where 10 of their top students premiere their clothes to gain exposure among industry big names.

To learn more about FIDM, visit their website at fidm.edu.

Read about different ways to discover the newest designers out there. We've prepared a list of tips for our readers to use when scouring the web and the world for the most exciting fashion designers to hit the scene.

If you’re one of those people that’s constantly looking for the next big thing in fashion then you’ve probably got your search technique down and solid. On the other hand, if you’re into fashion but haven’t quite figured out how to dig around for designers, worry not. We’ve gathered some helpful tips to help you along your way.

Hit up the Boutiques! – Let go of your obsession with the Abercrombies and Forever21’s of the world for a second and experience the wonder that is the boutique. These quaint stores are teeming with all the newest designers that are establishing their brand image and looking for ways to distribute their stuff. A good way to keep track of new designers at these stores is to pick out the pieces that best speak to your personal style and keep track of the designer’s label in case it starts showing up elsewhere.

Trunk Shows and Fashion Runways – A trunk show is when a designer literally takes a trunk full of their merchandise to display for a small, select group of potential clients. It’s a perfect opportunity to get to know a designer and their clothing more intimately. You can usually find out about these shows at local boutiques. Attending fashion shows is slightly different but usually more exciting. Independent designers are constantly finding their way into smaller scale fashion shows that are usually very accessible to the public.

Indie Fashion Blogs – There are groups of people who are paid to scour the internet in search of all the newest clothes, designers and fashion. And get this, their sole purpose is to bring this news to the attention of fashionistas everywhere by writing about it! There couldn’t be a more perfect way to get in sync with all the latest news in the the world of new desginers. So get on your lap top, search for all things indie fashion and get in tune with the buzz.
